Ernst Scheufele passed away
 

Ernst Scheufele, one of the most popular and friendly Old Eagles passed away on February 18th, 2010.

Oberleutnant Scheufele, 18 air victories, served with the JG 5 Eismeerjäger and the JG 4 in home defense.

Farewell Ernst and meet your friends - I will miss you.

Hi,
I was fortunate to meet Ernst Scheufele and his wife in London a few years ago.
He was very approachable and both he and his wife were very friendly and willing to spend time with everyone. I recall that he gave everyone a photograph of him with a small dog (I think) and his aircraft.
What a shame that he has died.

ya ah realy nice guy, know him for more then 20 years, remember he liked to play with my daughter that time, he was over 60 years old and he was a very tall man, and jumping around like a young man.....

may he rest in peace.

I met Wolfgang Scheufele at the Eismeerjäger meeting serveral years ago. It was a very nice happening and he was very freindly to myself as a visitor. Last time at Fliegerbörse in Speyer last autum. If you met him he was a very frindly and open person.

I will miss him and may he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear this, Horst. I know he and I had several mutual friends, including Wolfgang Rost and Hans-Hermann Schmitt.

Scheufeles funeral will be at thursday 04.03.2010 in Walldorf/Germany.
