Luftwaffe operations over France 17.11.39

Hi all, I would like to ask if anyone could provide me information about operations of Luftwaffe on 17.11.1939 over southern France?

I have only a brief note that on this date there was an air-raid alarm around midday with the info that aircraft was reported over Marseille (the handwriting is not clear).

Another possibility is an Italian aircraft but as far as I know Italy was not at war on the time till 10.6.1940.

Any help much appreciated.

Highly unlikely to have been an Italian aeroplane unless it was heavily off course due to the bad weather at the time. The Luftwaffe missions were very rough these days with many aeroplanes blown off course and going down blind. III./KG 51 is stated by Shores to have been operational in the Marseille-Bordeaux area on the 17th and possibly this was one of them.

Cheers
