Labe&Bell from Jgr200

Hi
I think the Ofw Labe(umlaut) making claims in July 1944 with Jgr200 was the Uffz Labe making claims with Zg26 in June 1944.....can anybody please confirm/dis-prove that, give me forenames D.O.B/D.O.D.
Similary the Lt Bell making claims with Jgr200 in July 1944 I think is the same Lt Bell with Jg54/Ejg2/Jv44 can anybody please confirm/dis-prove this?

Grateful for any assistance

Johannes

I think that you're on the right track with Kurt Bell (you left out his claims with Staffel Kaatsch) and I'll be posting some relevant information in a future addition to my website.

I don't have anything more on Labe.

Hi Nick

Thanks for that. With Labe, it is two people. There is a Micro Film spanning the last surnames beginning K and ending the first surnames beginning L, and it has two Labe's. The one with Zg26 has no forename, but the one with Jgr200 was an Erich! This Micro film just has the pilots name, claim date and time....nothing else!

With Bell Jgr200 ended 9th September 1944, so he had to move on from there, but his next claim is with IV./Jg54! which is odd, I could understand him going to JgrOst,West or sud as they become Ejg2, where I know Kurt Bell was.

Regards

Johannes

What microfilm are you referring to, please?

In my article, you'll see that Bell was serving with Staffel Kaatsch after 22/23 August. Formally he still belonged to JGr. 200 because Kaatsch was a temporary expedient but in reality JGr. 200 no longer functioned after about 20 August.

The Kaatsch Staffel existed until early October when Bell was signing its strength returns. The Staffel's tasks were taken over by 2./NAG 13 once it had been re-formed.

Hi Nick

Sorry, don't know the number of the Micro film, seem to remember(and it was eleven years ago) that it was amongst a whole Micro Film of just flak claims. If you don't known there are the type largely before August 1942 where claimed are listed by staffel for the period 1939-August 1942, then claims listed daily for East and West August 1942 until December 1944, and those for just flak, the are small variations wit JG5,1,11,ZG26, but usually quite abiding by the date timelines.

Gentlemen
I think Johannes is referring to a section towards the end of C2033 IV Teil 1.
