6/JG2 Bf 109E-4 S/D 24 Aug 1940
 

Hello

I am looking for details of a 109E-4 which was shot down over Shanklin, Isle of Wight on this date, the aircraft was piloted by F/W
Gerhardt Ebus. The plane crashed into Greatwoods Copse, Shanklin achieving a direct hit on an old well, most parts were recovered at the time but in recent years a dig was held and some fusalage remains were extracted from the well.
The pilot baled out injured but came down in the sea. He was dead when recovered by local boatmen.
As part of a project on Isle of Wight aircraft I would like to model this plane and would appreciate any information regarding markings.
