Hi All,
An interesting wreck photo, shows the a/c individual letter under the nose/engine cowling.

(I am unable to upload photos here it seems)

A small black letter under the cowling is fairly common on RAF fighters. Not ones as large as that, though.

Could they be Belgian Hurricanes?

Or did Belgian Hurricanes not have Rotol airscrews?

they have half black, half white undersides, also looks to be something akin to a Ventura in RAF camouflage in the left background and possibly another between the fence posts between the 2 Hurri's

They are Hurricane Is abandoned on a French airfield sometime after late May 1940 after the "Blitzkrieg" ; most likely from the Advanced Air Striking Force (Nos. 1 and 73 Sqns) or the Air Component ( 85 and 87 Sqns).
The field has evidently been occupied by a Luftwaffe bomber wing ( He.III at left).By that time not many would have still had 2-blade props.
The large letter may be from one of the former squadrons as they removed their codes and just had a letter, plus red-white-blue rudder stripes in line with the French. The back one has the original factory finish, black port wing, white starboard probably with the fuselage underside in aluminium; the front one looks to have the specified finish of black-white divided down the centreline.
Most of the Belgian Hurricanes had Watts 2-blade props and aluminium undersides but at least one had a Rotol.

The aircraft in the background is an He111.

607 Sq also had Hurricanes whilst based in France, but as they were newly delivered aircraft they would be unlikely to have any that were partly Aluminium. However, a large number of Hurricane units operated at least temporarily, so its perhaps unwise to restrict thinking to those there permanently pre-May 10th.

Hello,

It was a shame, nearly all Belgian Hurricane were straffed in Schaffen-Diest airfield :(. There was only one three bladed aircraft ('borrowed' from the RAF), the H.39, lost on the 2nd March 1940.
