Loss of a transport AC on 31. January 1944
 

Hi,

i'm currently working together with some greek researchers, we are looking for information about a transport AC lost on 31. january in greece near the island Naxos. Does anybody have information about a loss this day in greece?

Was it a Ju 52? And was it lost on Naxos or near Naxos?

Hi,
i think it's been a Ju 52, but i'm not sure if there have been also some Savoia Marchettis like SM82 in use by the Luftwaffe in early 1944 in greece.
The "transport" AC should have ditched in sea near Naxos.

Hello,

I have been on Naxos last year and the locals told me a story about a transport a/c full of Italians (prisoners?) which force landed on the island.All were safely transfered to the capital but the a/c was demolished by the villagers.
