Re: FW 190-What Unit?
Really amazing...the aircraft is very well preserved!
I am astonished to see such wonderful aircraft preserved! By the werknummer did they manage to discover the identity of the pilot? When the accident ocurred? Did the pilot survived the war? ( Was he captured bythe Russians )? Really worth watching Yours Adriano |
Re: FW 190-What Unit?
Found in the late 1980's in Russia in the ex-Leningrad front area.
My records have it as: Fw 190A-5U3 W.Nr 151227 White A of 4./JG 54 ex-G-FOKE now registered as N19027 owned by the Flying Heritage Collection was being restored in the UK but the restoration company went bust now back in the States. Hope this helps Chris |

It is my stry text on the site. most of it is there. Fw Paul Rätz was an experienced pilot flying with 1./JG54 bfore moving to 4./JG54. Captured. POW. Returned to W. Germany in 1949. Died 1990 or so, year before the recovery. It is an absolute beauty. As recoveries go, it is the most complete recovery and most original restoration. Very little 'metal' required replacement. Researching/watching for 19 years. Hopefully it will be painted this year!. regards Mark |
