Eckart-Willhelm Von Bonin
Hi all. A three part question, if I may.
At 01.42 hrs on the 12th May 1941 Lt Eckart-Willhelm Von Bonin from 6/NJG1 claimed a Blenheim shot down into the sea 3km South West of Eiderstedt, this was witnessed by Senior Watch Office Lenz who was the commander of No: 72 Anti-Aircraft Seachlight Company. Von Bonin's combat report describes him as flying a Bf110 DO G9-EP, and was to patrol Sector 1C with Radio Operator Uffz Johrden. The problem is that no Blenheim is recorded as operating on the 11th - 12th May, so could it have been another aircraft? Also, any help with details on Uffz Johrden and the location of Sector 1C would be much appreciated. Many thanks |
Re: Eckart-Willhelm Von Bonin
Probably Wellington R1330 or R1461 from No 40 Squadron.
