Hurricane - 238 Squadron 1940

I suspect this could be L2089 of 238 Sqn, damaged on 15 September 1940. Plt Off V C Simmonds unhurt.

Can anyone confirm or offer alternative suggestions?

Aaaaaargh!!

Yes indeed. That is possibly the incident depicted in the photograph....although I cannot upload it!!!

no closer date to 15th, no further details I'm afraid
