Beurling's victims
I'm trying to find the identities of three Luftwaffe pilots claimed by the Canadian ace George Beurling. A high proportion of Beurling's Malta victims have been identified but I have been unable to find anything about three of the four claims he made over France. They include:
1 May, 1942. An FW-190 claimed near Calais 3 May, 1942. An FW-190 claimed near Cap Gris Nez. 24 Sept., 1943. An FW-190 (I don't have a location, other than France). I have read on a web site about Beurling that this was a JG2 machine, but no name was given. Does anyone know if there's any German records that match these claims? Thanks in advance for any help Dan McCaffery |
Re: Beurling's victims
I see this subject has been raised here before, but I don't know if it was resolved.
The 24 Sept. 1943 claim was apparently in the Poix area. |

Re: Beurling's victims
On 1st may Fw 190A-1 W. Nr 0046, flown by anonymous pilot of II/JG 26, was shot down by Spitfire. Beurling kill was only one sure kill claimed by RAF pilots on that day, but there was also five probably claims and two 10% damaged Fw 190.
