Abandoned early model Arado Ar 196
The aircraft in the photograph looks like an early A-0 or A-1 model Arado Ar 196, abandoned in a wooded area. Note the absence of both the wing mounted cannon and the fuselage mounted machine gun. The Stammkennzeichen seems to begin with RC + , not sure about the C though. Does anyone know more about this aircraft and where the picture was taken?

Update: this could be RC+BP previously with FFS C 17 August 1941. Source: Flugbuch Eberhard Marquardt.
Maybe one of two A-1s with this school at the time: Werknr. 0013 and 0023. Can anyone confirm? |
