Tracing a relative

I recently received 4 postcards that my dad, Charles Ira Hahn, B-17 Bombadier, sent to his mother, my grandmother from Kriegsgefangenenlager der Luftwaffe Nr. 3-- June-September 1944. His Gefangenenummer: 5699
Lafer-Bezeichnung:

How can I find out more information?

This might help you on your way, from google:
http://freepages.military.rootsweb.a...er/h_names.htm

1. You should also post the same request in the Allied section here, as that may elicit more responses. Also, those with a great interest in the 8th USAAF may be able to give you a lot more leads as to his final mission, and perhaps a veterans' association that you may be able to contact.

Hope this helps.

Good evening John & Kathy !

He doesn't seem to be an Eight AF man. No entry in Andrews/Adams "Roll of Honor"

Best regards !

Ira Hahn was a crewmember of B-17F, 42-30347, crashed on 29.05.44 near Übelbach, NW Graz/Austria. 301.BG, 419.BS, MACR 5445; Stalag Luft 3 Sagan-Silesia Bavaria (Moved to Nuremberg-Langwasser).

Hope someone can add something more...

Best regards
