Was Schiphol bombed by the RAF on the evening of 4 May 41 and if so, by which units?

As far I am able to see, Schiphol A/F was not bombed during that night.

Strange. An Observer from 2/106 reported seeing RAF bombers underneath him as they headed for the UK so maybe somewhere else got hit?

4/5 May 1941.
Nine Blenheims for shipping between Hook of Holland and Antwerp.
Three Blenheims have been attacking the harbours of Rotterdam.
Four Blenheims to Antwerp and one to Terneuzen.
Must have been from No. 2 Group.
Main operation that night was to Brest.

Thanks-no mention in the 2 Gp history though. 59 Sqn that night went to Ste Nazaire, Lorient, Querqeville

I could not find any details in the KTB of Schiphol. No bombing on Schiphol was mentioned on 4 May 41.

Thanks Rob. Any mention in the KTB up to 28 Jan 41 of a 7/KG 30 ac crash-landing/crashing on take off?

Chris,

Dutch loss register on nimh.nl has an entry on 24-11-40 for a Ju-88A-5 of 7./KG30 at Schiphol. Wnr. 6046.
Nature of accident not mentioned, nor pilot.

Hello Chris,

Alas no KTB for that period available. Looked into Wochenlageberichte WBN and it was stated that between 25.01.41 - 01.02.41 one Ju88 made a crashlanding in Holland. Alas no more details were stated in this source.

Gen.Qu. 6. Abt (Ic) Flugzeugunfälle etc stated a Ju88 of III./KG 30 which crashlanded on the beach of Zandvoort on 25 January 1940. Crew unhurt.

Thanks. Definitely at an airfield so not Zandvoort (surely 1941?)

C
