No.96 Squadron Combat Report 19.04.44
Hello to all,
Has anyone out there have a copy of P/O Allen & F/Sgt Patterson's combat report for the early morning of the 19th April 1944. Their victim was a Ju 88 piloted by Uffz. Helmut Harbauer. We have been contacted by the son of Helmut Harbauer (who incidently passed away in 1999) in the hope that we can help him with further information regarding the shooting down of his fathers Ju 88, and his time spent in hospital and then POW. From our archive I have sent Herr Harbauer a copy of the WASt Verlustmeldung, A.I.(g) Report No. 8/110, A.D.I.(k) Report No. 177/1944 and three photo's showing P/O Allen & F/Sgt Patterson at their victims crash site. If anyone can help with further information I would greatly appreciate it. Regards, Melvin www.aircrewremembrancesociety.com |

You should be able to download (at a cost) from the NA site:

I do not show a combat report for this claim in my database. All I have is the reference in the Fighter Command Combats and Casualties report, and the Squadron ORB. Time was between April 18 at 2307 and April 19 at 0151, location was near Cranbrook, and the aircraft was Mosquito XIII HK415.

Does anyone have the given names of the Allen/Patterson crew? This appears to be the only claim made by Allen.
Thanks, Tom |

Tom,
I have P/O John Allen, but only F/Sgt Patterson, probably from the ORB. Frank. |
