Ju 88 240xxx block: Ju 88 G-10?
Hello,
Were there any Ju 88 G-10 in the 240xxx block? Or was this assigned to the omnious Ju 88 H-2? Regards, Roger |

Hello Ed,
Thank you. Interestingly, I have a photo of a fuselage with a 240xxx serial but it does not have a Morgenstern antenna, which as far as I know would be a feature of the G-7 (see also this old TOCH thread: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/archiv...php?t-240.html) Regards, Roger |

Hello all, I do not know much about G-7, but I can tell you the a Ju 88 H-2 was never build!! I have original documents which states that the order for Ju 88 H-2 are canceled!

Night fighters aren't my area but I don't recall seeing a G-7 mentioned in either a casualty report or a strength return. I expect someone will soon show I'm totally wrong about that but if a type was operational, you'd certainly expect it to show up in those documents. |
Re: Ju 88 240xxx block: Ju 88 G-10?
Nick, yes the doupts are there, partly on true grounds, because many of the alledged Ju 88 G-7´s turned out having ordinary G-6´s W.Nr´s. There was discussion lately about that the actual G-7´s were to have basic A-4 wing and some are reported. Tonight I was looking into Luftwaffe delivery statistics (01.01.-11.04.45) to see how many of all types were delivered. And yes, one Ju 88 G-7 was delivered (or should I say "allocated") to Vers.Verb. OKL on 29.03.45 - What actually happened to it then is different matter - Two were slightly damaged in air-attack at Bernburg 30.03.45 - but by 12.04.45 the factory was in US Army hands...

It's Oliver again, I had a look in my privat document database and found the attached document. Not a good quality, but it names to G-7 with 240xxx WNo. But also in official documents can be errors.

Re: Ju 88 240xxx block: Ju 88 G-10?
Yes, this is likely same or similar page I was indeed referring too. This has been in some circulation and has been discussed before in forums - Two damaged in low-flying atttack at Bernburg 31.03.45 (Sorry for typo abowe). The 46xxxx and 24xxxx numbers are both known, the former as G-10´s with long fuselage. The "RW" part could mean Reparatur Werke, but these are mostly known from logbook entries on rebuilt / converted G-1´s to Mistel w. Fw 190´s (some with 59xxxx numbers but most with 71xxxx numbers). NERO was the Roman emperor, who tried awoiding burning down his city whilst playing his Violin, right?
