Historic C-47 severely damaged during transport

Bad news from the Netherlands...
This night, a C-47 Dakota of the Wings of Liberty museum in Best, was heavily damaged during transport to a temporary new location at the former airbase Valkenburg.

The aircraft was transported in pieces, but the wing centre section proved to be too wide for a bridge and slammed into the side barriers....

The driver must have been asleep or a complete cretin...

The transport firm doesn't exactly escape blame either.

As a side news, here in Hungary flies a rare ex-MALÉV Li-2 (Soviet licence of DC-3 the C-47 originates from).
