Swordfish I (L9716) 812 Sqdr August 31st. 1940
On August 31st. 1940 a Swordfish I (L9716) from 812 Sqdr crashed at the Island of Rozenburg in the Netherlands.
Local sources mention that it carried a crew of 3 however I only got he name of the pilot Lt George Villiers-Tuthill. Does anybody know if it actually carried a crew of 3 and if so what their names are? Both are mentioned to have bailed out and made POW. Thanks. |

Hi
My records show that the Swordfish carried only two crew, Lt George Villiers-Tuthill, who was killed, and Mid(A) Maurice Driver who was taken prisoner. Hope this helps. Cheers Brian |
