Bare metal Me 262s

I'm currently building a 1/72 scale Me 262 and have opted to build one of the a/c found at war's end still in bare metal, but with filler/putty applied to the panel lines.

I wan't to know if there are any figures as to how many were found in this condition?

Were any of them actually flown in combat like this, and was the lack of paint just to speed them off the production lines?

I have a few references, but nothing very clear, and can only guess the putty colour by looking at others' models, so any further details would be gratefully received.

Sorry for the diatribe......... ;)

Many photos of that Me262,

The a/c was flown to Rhein-Main on March 30 1945 by test pilot Hans Fay. It was the 1st intact 262 captured by the Western Allies. Note the bomb racks in some photos.

Thanks mate, there's a few close-up photos on there I hadn't seen. That putty looks pretty dark but it's hard to make out the exact colour.

Me 262 a-1a 111712, also unpainted, was one of the JV 44 aircraft flown out of Munich to Innabruck.
