Hans Jakoby

Hi all!

Does anyone of you happen to have some information regarding a pilot named Hans Jakoby (I'm almost 100% sure that it's spelled as Jakoby with a K instead of Jacoby with a C).
I think I remembered that he was with somekind of JagdGeschwader... Is there anyone who is able to confirm this?

Many thanks in advance,

Tom

Looking in our officer career files, all that we have that fits are:

JAKOBI, Hans. (DOB: 24.10.13). 01.04.43 promo to Hptm. (Kr.O.).

JACOBI, Hans-Joachim von Wangelin. (DOB: 19.09.14 in Klausdorf). (R). 10.08.42 Oblt., awarded the Ehrenpokal. 19.09.42 Oblt., awarded Ritterkreuz, Staffelführer 1./KG 77. † 18.08.42.

JACOBY, Hans, (DOB: 09.08.15). (i.G.). 01.07.42 promo to Hptm. 10.06.43 Hptm. in Offiziere z.b.V./Ob.d.L. (Sch.Etat), ordered to Kriegslehrgängen für Führergehilfen (war courses for general staff assistants) for temporary duty.

Looking into the Kracker Archive, there is only:

Jacobi, Hans - Oblt. 3.(F)/10 (Russia)Ju 88D (lost)Observer Operational ClaspMIA 3 December, 1942 at Tazinskaja, cause unknown. Remaining crew (all MIA): Oblt Hugo Oechsle, Observer, Ofw Walter Schäfer, wireless operator and Ofw Gustav Passow, gunner.

That is all we can find that comes close to what you ask.

Re: Hans Jakoby

Thank you all.
I´m not able to pinpoint down whether the guy I´m requesting information about is among the names listed here.
Will post more once I receive more information.
A friend of mine showed me a bunch of wartime letters from luftwaffe pilot and if I remember well his name was spelled Hans Jacoby...
There was also a picture and a letter from a POW camp.

Regards, Tom

Hi Tom,

If you are reffering to the set of letters that is for sale on the internet.
Then your Hans Jacoby is this one:

JACOBY, Hans, (DOB: 09.08.15). (i.G.). 01.07.42 promo to Hptm. 10.06.43 Hptm. in Offiziere z.b.V./Ob.d.L. (Sch.Etat), ordered to Kriegslehrgängen für Führergehilfen (war courses for general staff assistants) for temporary duty.

Married to Anna Maria in 1939, stationed later in Luft Gau Berlin with Gesch. 102.

Cheers Ron
