Unternehmen "BIENENSTOCK"
 

At the end of the war Oberst Hajo Herrmann planed or induced sabotage actions behind lines of western Allieds including occupied part of Germany.
Extended commando missions to Italy around April/Mai 1945 against American airfields in Italy, e.g.Forgia and Rimini, were cancelled after armistice
negotiations for Southern Front came to an end.

Beginning 1st Mai 1945 Hajo Herrmann dismissed his "BEES" e.g. from Salzburg-Ainring and nearby airfields with following document:
Grade Name has to accomplish a military order. After accomplishing the order he is dismissed from the Wehrmacht.

All Pilots had about 3 kg explosives in their planes. On her flights "home" quite a number of these light a/c, e.g. Bü 181, were shoot down by American anti-aircraft guns
within Bavaria.
My questions:
1. Who knows of any active sabotage actions by these pilots?
2. Who has informations about shoot downs of Hajo Herrmann's "BEES"?

I actually know one of the Bees and he is still under us as at least six months ago whne I spoke to him last. Danny

I was a member of Schulungslehrgang "ELBE" and Unternehmen "BIENENSTOCK". In was present, when Hajo Herrmann launched Unternehmen "BIENENSTOCK" at 15th or 16th April 1945 at Pocking.

I am the archivst of both special Luftwaffe Skdo's.

Please give me the address of the "BEE" you know.

my search on "BIENENSTOCK" takes up the contacts we had some time ago. I am just reading the copy of a letter dated 02.Sept. 1993. I recommended Ulrich Safts book "Das Bittere Ende Der Luftwaffe". In the meantime more informtions about sabotage actions are on hand.

I suggest to take up this topic with the JÄGERSTAMMTISCH VANCOUVER if it still exists. I think most of the comrads paticipating in 1993 are died since than.

Uffz. Werner Zell died on 13. December 2008. He rammed a B-17 of the 100th BG, which hardly could return to England.
It was Werner who called veterans of "ELBE" allready sommer 2000 and suggested setting up the memorial stone.

Ja, das habe ich leider bereits am Freitag erfahren.Ich hatte ihn 2007, als es ihm nach der Hüftoperation so schlecht ging, in Wienhausen zum Auto geleitet.
