Info required on Lt. Peter Baumgartner ( 7./KG 55 )
 

Good morning for all,

I am looking for information about this Lt. Peter BAUMGARTNER, who flew with 7./KG 55.

I would like to know, if possible if he was a pilot, a beobachter; if he survived the war or was shot down; anything would be great.

I do know, from some posts here that there is a book about the KG 55 written in German. Maybe someone who possess it could have a quick look for me ( PLEASE! )?

Olt Peter Baumgartner was Staffelkapitän 1./KG 55 from 13.2.1944 till 8.5.1945.
Source Kampfgeschwader 55 "Greif" of Wolfgang Dierich. Stuttgart. 1975. Page 469. If I see more I will let you know.

Hi, He was a pilot and was awarded the Deutsche Kreuz in Gold on 1 July 1942.

A search of our files reveals only that:

BAUMGARTNER, Peter.
23.09.41 Lt., awarded the Ehrenpokal.
01.07.42 Lt., 7./KG 55 awarded the DKG.
13.02.44 Oblt., appt Staka 1./KG 55 (to 08.05.45).

A search of the Kracker Archive reveals only that:

Baumgartner, Peter. - Lt. - 7./KG-55 He 111H, DK-G(7/1/42), EK 1 & 2, Bomber Operational Clasp, DK-G Awards List



This is all that we can find.

I think I had forgotten about this thread...only now researching on the Archives I found it. Please do accept my warmest thanks for sharing what you had at the time about Lt Peter Baumgartner, from 7./KG 55.
That information helped me about the search for BAUMGARTNER members of the Luftwaffe in WW2.
Sorry for have missed those precious answers...
