Daily online reports of Einsatzstab Fähre Ost / I./JG 54

I noticed that Finnish National Archive has digitized also some interesting German documents which were attached to Finnish war diaries. Some of them are Einsatzstab Fähre Ost's daily reports from July 1st to October 31st 1942. The unit was compromised of Luftwaffe naval detachment and a part of 1./JG 54. With no further ado;

July 1st - 31st
August 1st - 30th
September 1st - 30th
October 1st - 31st

Thanks!

starting from 10.sept.1942 there are registered few flights of Sonderstaffel Buschmann.
But it seems these few planes soon disappeared from Ladoga. Was it because of soviet submarine activity in Finnish Bay?

It could be so. According to this intelligence report Finns had only saw a single Soviet submarine on Lake Ladoga during 1941-1942 while Gulf of Finland had seen dozens of them at the same time and more effort was needed there.

This one submarine was assumed there based on 6.Sept.1942 observation near island Verkkosaari? Unfortunately I didn't find any candidate from soviet submarines (looked mostly at M-class subs). Only starting with year 1943.

Anyway I don't think Sonderstaffel Buschmann was on Ladoga for anti-submarine activities. Probably they planned to use them as simple reconnaissance planes? And probably for Nordlicht? But either because operation was delayed/canceled or because of results (always keine Feindbeobachtung) or because of submarine activity in Finnish Bay they were soon removed from Ladoga.

also looked thru KTB Skl Aug/Sep, nothing interesting there either.

LeLv 6 SPK contains one flight from Tallinn which is probably plane sent to Ladoga: http://digi.narc.fi/digi/fullpic.ka?kuid=3608420

Tere Andrus and others!

Buschmann detachment was sent to Lake Ladoga for Seenot purposes. Or at least this is my understanding.

I have also understood that the detachment was sent back to Tallinn because the whole system of barges was taken off operations plus Luftflotte 1 JaBos were also transferred back. In other words the operation was ended.

Cheers,
Kari
