107 Squadron Malta
I'm looking for the ORB of the unit related to 17 December 1941. PO Keene did not return from a mission in the area of Tripoli. Expecially I need the time, how many planes were involved and possibly other details.
Thanks. |
Re: 107 Squadron Malta
Hello,
Some details can be found in RAF Bomber Losses in the Middle East & Mediterranean Vol 1, 1939/42 by Gunby & Temple. Op: Sorman & Zuara. 2 Blenheims from 107 Sqdn to attack M/T's. One member of Keene's crew was killed. a/c crashed 3km East of Zuara at 1150 hrs. So the second Blenheim IV must have been successful and returned to base crew safe. Alex |
Re: 107 Squadron Malta
Thanks, I've seen it. But other souces say that 4 Blenheims were on mission that same day. I want to find out if there have been two different missions of 2 planes each.

Re: 107 Squadron Malta
Malta The Hurricane Years also only gives the one mission with 2 x Blenheims from 107 squadron taking part.

Re: 107 Squadron Malta
Hello,
Strange that the Intel Officer at the time of the event records four Blenheims ? Wonder where the info for only two came from ? Alex |
