Ju88 Colour Footage 1940

Here's one for all BofB era Luftwaffe fans.

Attached are a few stills from a colour home movie which was taken by a Luftwaffe officer around the time of the Battle of Britain. Hard to nail down the exact time but they are as far as I can tell Ju88 A-1s of II Gruppe KG30, coded 4D.

The pilot in the close up shot is wearing a high-visibility yellow 'Skull' cap, so can only guess they were operating over the sea at the time it was shot. I mailed them to Guttorm Fjeldstad, who is restoring a Ju88 in Norway, and he suggested it maybe around May 1940 as they were engaged in anti-shipping ops off Norway at this time.

Anyway thought they would be of interest:-)

Incidentally, the extended footage also shows Bomber Ace Werner Baumbach receiving his Iron Cross. Ironically he was killed delivering an Avro Lancater to the Argentine Air Force in 1953.
