Hi guys

Seeking the first names of the following two French airmen who were killed on 21 December 1939 when their Potez 637 of GRII/33 was shot down.

Lt G. Castellena
Adjt M. Pernot

Lieutenant Sagon (p), bailed out, severely burned;
Lieutenant Castellana (o), †;
Adjudant Pernot (gunner), †.

Pz 637 n° 14, shot down over Verdun.

No first names, sorry.

It has been suggested that the names were Georges Castellana and Marcel Pernot. I was seeking confirmation.

You can find some more details about the mission in Les Chevaliers de l'Ombre by Patrick Ehrhardt. No first names, though.

Hi Brian,

On page 284 and 285 of "Ils étaient là ..." by Jacqueline and Paul Martin is mentioned :
S/Lt Castellana Gratien and Adj Pernot Marcel.

A search on the database of http://www.memorial-genweb.org confirms that:
_ there is only one Castellana listed, and his first name is Gratien (name on the memoiral of Lycée Arago of Perpignan)
_ there is a fellow named Marcel Pernot who died on 21 Dec 1939 (name ad the commemorative momument at Ambiévillers and Uriménil).

No other data or picture is available for them.
