FW190 A-5 WerkNr. #2688
Hi, I'm new here and looking for pictures of wreck - a downed Fw190 A-5 (WerkNr. # 2688).
This aircraft was from 16.6. - 23.6.43 at Auxerre WAGO for repair and came from the III. / JG26. Later it was again there, namely on 27.9.43, came from I. / JG26, 70% damaged in forced landing at the 8.9.43 and finaly scrapped. Maybe there´s any source for or is it in the hands of someone ? Many Thanks |

I know nearly all about this aircraft #2688 because it was my fathers aircraft and he was downed in it by Spitfire at the 8.9.43, forced landed at Sainghin en Melantois (France). Not for sure is what happens with my father and the #2688 at the 20.6.43. At this day Boston III (107 Squadron) bombing airfield Poix escorted by Spitfire F.IX (403 and 421 Squadron). 3 victories over FW190 are recorded from No421 at this day and it seems one of them was my father. More I can´t say for the moment. The reason why I searching some pictures of this #2688wreck is that I do a chronological report of the military career of my father. Cheers JohnnyB |
