OOOOOOOO...Fw190 W.Nr.1227 Almost ready for flight!!!
NICE video if W.Nr. 1227. This is the one that Paul Allen owns. There is a famous colour video of this bird when it was found in the 1990's.

Re: OOOOOOOO...Fw190 W.Nr.1227 Almost ready for flight!!!
Thanks for sharing, very nice.
The A-8/Ns are great, but the real deal is even better. Should be possible to build some re-engined D-9s, especially with the rigging made for the A-8/Ns. Unfortunately Buchons aren't half as nice with their Merlins! If only they can increase the number of DB-engined 109s, we'll be assured nice Jagdwaffe flying for some time to come. Me 262, Bf 109 (DB-powered) and Fw 190 in a single show, has it been done yet? |

Re: OOOOOOOO...Fw190 W.Nr.1227 Almost ready for flight!!!
Flugwerk did re-engineer one A8/N for an Allison V12 to become a D model. Allison/Continental Engines re-worked the prop gear housing and a special engine mount to fit the engine into the D9 cowling. The aircraft was apparently delivered to Kissimee, Florida (same airfield where Stallions51 and White One are located ). I haven't seen any updates since this link below.
