Heinkel He115 parts/data plate

Have a look in the on offer section for details from BilasLtu regarding some parts from/for a Heinkel He115.

Does anyone have any detail on the aircraft concerned, WNr 3038?

Regards

David

He 115N W.Nr. 3038 was the first of six such aircraft ordered by the Royal Norwegian Naval Air Service. First trest-flight in Rostock/Marienehe on 27.06.39. Taken over by the RNNAS on 14.07.39 and flown from Rostock/Marienehe to Horten, the main naval base in Norway. Nominally reg. LN-MAB for the transit flight only. Given RNNAS serial number F.50.
Late July 1939 transferred to No. 1 Air Group in Horten. To No.2 Air Group at Bergen/Flatöy on 04.10.39. To No. 3 Air Group at Tromsö/Skattöra on 17.10.39. Flown from Tromsö/Skattöra to Salmijärvi in Finland on 08.06.40. Taken on strength by Erillinen Lentue X on 27.06.41 with finnish serial number He115. This unit was renamed 1. Lentue/Lentolaivue 15 on 30.06.41. Crashed at Lake Tugasjärvi, approx. 100 km east of Lake Onega on 04.07.43 while on a cladestine operation. It had run into an ambush and after one fuel tank had exploded it had to make a forced landing on a lake. The crew became POW's. This is the brief history only.

Hello!

Please could you give a link or something for this. Never heard of this BilasLtu. Is it a forum or site or what?

Getting copies of archived documents for HE-115 is not very big job. The plane was used to deliver and pick up long range patrols deep behind the lines.

Oh nevermind. Stupid me. Found the posting on the "on offer" section. I hadn't even realised before that such section exists here!

Hi Kari,

That is one reason that I started the thread in the main section, I'm sure that I am one of many who don't usually have a look in the other sections on the forum!

Kind regards,

David
