Soviet aces (KIA)

Hi everyone,

Does anybody know the date of the death of the following Soviet fighter / Sturmovik aces (and/or HSU):

Pavel Marakulin (651st ShAP)

G. N. Dorohov (707th ShAP)

Ivan A. Mogilchak (235th ShAP)

P. I. Morduhovich (177th GvIAP)

M. A. Korba (611st IAP)

B. V. Arsenev (611st IAP)

Thanks,

Gabor

Hi!

P. I. Morduhovich (177th GvIAP) - 31.10.44 MIA

M. A. Korba and B. V. Arsenev (611st IAP) - there weren't pilots with such name in that Fighter Regiment, sorry.

Ivan L. (not A.) Mogilchak (235th ShAP) - 14.02.45 DOW

Laurent,

check Mikhail's excellent site for the basic details always:

he had 19 confirmed kills, his exact name (both info from the www.avia-hobby.ru):

Мордухович Павел Яковлевич

The situation with Mordukhovich's score is not completely clear yet (BTW as with many other Soviet aces' scores too)...

19 is the figure from Soviet popular literature, not from documents. Maybe this is mainly 'propaganda fact'. In documents we found only 11 personal confirmed kills, scored by this pilot. This figure is not 100% decisive, but there are serious doubts that some day I or anybody else will found those 8 victories... Another argument is the fact that Mordukhovich wasn't awarded HSU and never was presented to it.

Thank you guys, I really appreciate your responses. BTW, the 2 611st IAP names are both listed on the Kiskunlachaza memorial among the 12 killed 611st IAP pilots, who fell in 1944-45 in Hungary. The date of their death would help to identify the battles and the crash sites where they lost their lives. Thanks again,

Gabor

Thanks, Mikhail, for the further explanation. Well, acording to my limited knowledge, the Soviet fighter pilots generally got the Gold Star of HSU after that number of kills (19). It's possible, that he had some confrontations with a commander (or with a politruk officer) and that's why he did not got that medal, or he had really 'just' 11 kills and that's why did not got that award?

BTW on that day, when he was went missing, Hpt. Sturm claimed two and Lt. Ewald claimed one La-5, so if he was lost in a combat sortie, probably was shot down by a II./JG 52's ace
