God evenig to all !
A Ju87 was shot down at 09.50hrs at ZAVENTEM / or VILVOORDE, in an area called "Molen van Steenokkerzeel " (= Mill of ...). 4 crewmembers POW (1 WIA), were brought to the Gendarmerie at Vilvoorde by Belgian soldiers. The engine was hit by AA. Aircraft was recognised by a Lt FLORET, G.T.A./III, Gr.13 Bie/f Section C.40mm. Report found in C.D.H.-archives. Who knows more ? Thanks in advance, Fredcompa |

Gotta go with Danny on this one - no Ju 87 loss I've ever seen had a 4-man crew. A Ju 52 perhaps? A mix of Stuka 2 crews?

Re: Ju-87,May 14th,1940, ZAVENTEM or VILVOORDE,Belgium
Assuming dat (14/5), timing (around 9.50 a.m.), area (Vilvoorde, N. of Bruxelles) and 4 crew are correct, I think this one is the only candidate
(original entry from Peter Cornwell with my additions): 7./KG27 Heinkel He111P. Damaged in attacks by Nos. 85 and 87 Squadron Hurricanes during sortie over Leuven and also hit by AA fire. Crash-landed south of Brussels 9.30 a.m. FF Fw Willi Biskupski captured wounded. Uffz Willi Heidbüchel, Uffz Josef Kerstin, and Gefr Arthur Klöckner baled out and captured unhurt. Aircraft 1G+HR a write-off. If your info is correct it would mean that at least the crew baled out north of Bruxelles. Maybe the "south of Brussels" of Peter then refers to the crash site of the aircraft. Pieter |

Could it have been a Ju88? I am not familiar with German losses, but at least it would be an understandable error. Danny
