Leo Etgen covered this in his post on the 25th of October. See below.
In addition to the photograph of the Fw 190 D-9 flying near the falling bombs mentioned above I also remember the three gun camera stills sourced from www.thomasgenth.de/html/iii_jg_26.html which show the Fw 190 D-9 "Yellow 15" (W.Nr. 500 118) flown by Unteroffizier Karl-Georg Genth (2 victories) of 11./JG 26 being shot down near Enschede by F/O Vassilios Vassiliades (10 victories, killed in action 25 March 1945) of 3 Sqn, RAF on 7 March 1945 as his last victory. |

Hi there Revi16,
Yes, it's clearly a "langnase Dora". I checked out your film with Thomas Genth's excellent website dedicated among others to the flying career of his father Karl-Georg Genth; his last flight aboard Fw 190 D-9 W.Nr. 500 118 took place on 7 March 1945, as his was shot down by F/O. Basilios M.Vassiliades's Tempest Mark V EJ 755 coded "JF-E". He could fortunaetely bail out and save his life albeit wounded. http://www.thomasgenth.de/html/iii_jg_26.html Mr. Genth does publish three stills taken by the gun camera of F/O Vassiliades and I tend to think that youy Youtube movie plays it out in extenso. Great find anyway. This reminds me of the thread asking about photos of Fw 190 D-9's in flight some weeks ago here. Another piece for the D-9 file! Cheers Marc |
