Identity of Me262 unit claiming two Lancasters
On March 23,1945, two Lancasters of 101 Squadron were shot down by Me-262s. Does anyone know the identity of the Me 262 unit? Someone speculated they were from I/JG-7.

Chris,
I assume you're refering to "The Me262 Combat Diary" by Foreman/Harvey (1995). I can't see where it mentions III/JG-7. What my copy says is "...fifteen to twenty Me 262s and attacked going through the bombers at high speed shooting down Lancasters of 101 Squadron flown by Flying Officer Little and Flight Lieutenant Patterson before the Mustangs could intervene; a third Lancaster was damaged." No mention of the unit except for a "I/JG-7" mention. Later, there is mention of bombers of the 15th AF and Major Ehler claimed two Liberators shot down and Ofw Reinhold a Fortress probably destroyed. |

I can see where it's possible that Major Ehler shot down the two Lancasters, but it's not clear to me from the narrative. In the March 23,1945 listings the B-24 victories are listed over Chemnitz while the two Lancasters were shot down over Bremen. One of the Lancasters was DV245 'The Saint' w/ over 100 missions.
