Ta 152 production numbers

A few years back ArtieBob did a great job on neubau 109s.

Has anyone done any investigation on the number of Ta 152s built?

As far as I can tell there is less than 100 built including prototypes.

Re: Ta 152 production numbers

Hi there Kutscha,

I just checked the production figures given by Thomas Hitchcock in his recent opus:

Hitchcock (Th), 2010: The Focke-Wulf Ta 152, Monogram Monarch Series Number Three, Eagle Editions, Hamilton Mt.

P. 189 - 191 sum up the following figures:

The Focke-Wulf Sorau factory produced 25 prototypes: W.Nr. 110 001 - 110 025

The Focke-Wulf Cottbus factory produced more then 40 and no more then 55 Ta 152 H-0
The same factory did achieve producing approximatively 17 Ta 152 H-1
All told, the Focke-Wulf Cottbus plant produced between 57 and 72 Ta 152's.

Beyond those figures, Mimetall (MML) managed to produce two TA 152 C-1, hastily delivered to JG 301.

This tops off the finished planes... with between 84 to 99 Ta 152's built.

As for the unfinished machines, US units did find in April 1945 at the Mimetall plant in Erfurt about a dozen Ta 152 E-0/E-1 short span planes and two Ta 152 H-11 recce version in an advanced assembly state, but yet unfinished.
Similarly, at leat one Ta 152 H-1/R11 was nearing completion at the Focke-Wulf Bremen plant, and several Ta 152 C-1/R11 were under assembly at the ATG plant in Leipzig.

Hope this helps

Cheers
Marc

Re: Ta 152 production numbers

Thanks Marc-Andre

Just to stir the pot, Hermann in his Ta152 book says Cottbus produced 44 Ta152Hs (2 - Nov '44, 19 - Dec '44, 20 - Jan '45, 3 - Feb '45. The line then shut down)

In the same book of the 28 'V' Sorau a/c, 15 are listed as canceled or not built.

I am trying to pin down the number of completed, and accepted, Ta152Hs.

Re: Ta 152 production numbers

Checking the same source, there are 38 known delivered Ta 152 H-0. Among them, W.Nr. 150 032 served as template for the planned Mimmetal production.

As for the H-1/R11, a grand total of 17 is known (W.Nr. 150 158 - 150 174).

US and British reports quote finding the fpollowing machines at war's end:

- W.Nr. 150 158 reportedly captured, place unknown
- W.Nr. 150 162 at Eger (Cheb) airfield.
- W.Nr. 150 167 at FW plant Bremen
- W.Nr. 150 168 "Grüne 9", Stab/JG 301, flown by Willy Reschke, at Leck airfield
- W.Nr. 150 169 at Leck airfield
- W.Nr. 150 174 "Grüne 5" Stab/JG 301 at Leck airfield

No other details known...

Cheers
Marc

Re: Ta 152 production numbers

I guess I will have to acquire this Eagle book.

Thanks again Marc-André.

I was under the impression that the first 20 WNr150xxx were H-0s and those produced after were H-1s.

Besides the American and British reports, where would the authors find the info for their books? I ask because just recently I was told that aircraft manufacturing records were destroyed by Allied bombing.
