Junkers Ju-87B1 Questions

I have some questions concerning the technical specifications of the Junkers Ju-87B1:

How many ordanance hard points were fitted and what was the maximum total ordanance load that could be carried?

What was the mark and type of machine guns fitted?

All help will be very well received indeed, thank you in anticipation.

Regards Richard.

Junkers Ju-87B1 Questions

I think I have been able to find out some of the answers I seek:

As I understand it:

2 X 7.92 MG17 forward firing machine guns
1 X 7.92 MG15 machine gun in rear cockpit

External hard point for bomb load on the belly crutch for 550 kg
Wing rack hard points for 4 X 50 kg bombs.

Can anyone explain exactly where the forward facing machine guns were fitted and also, were any of the B-1 varients fitted with the 2 machine guns fitted in an internal turret?

All help as always will be very well received.

Regards Richard.

Junkers Ju 87 B-1 Questions

Hello Richard

According to the old Warplanes of the Third Reich book by William Green the Ju 87 B-1 could carry either a 550 kilogram bomb on the ventral crutch or a 250 kilogram bomb on the ventral crutch in addition to four 50 kilogram bombs on the underwing racks with the full crew compliment. The forward-firing MG 17 7.92 millimeter machine guns were fitted one in either wing and the rear-firing MG 15 7.92 millimeter machine gun was fitted to a flexible mount in the rear fuselage. I hope this helps.

Horrido!

Leo
