AT-6 in the ETO

Two American airmen are buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery with date of death 17-9-1944:
David E. CRUICKSHANK and William R. TAYLOR, both of 55th FS, 20th FG.
It's known that Cruickshank was killed on AT-6D 42-84591 at Walsham near Coltishall in Norfolk.
In the History of the 20th FG is mentioned that both airmen were killed in a mid-air collision.
Were both flying on 42-84591 and which aircraft was also involved in this mid-air collision, or were they both single occupants of an AT-6 ?
Regards and thanks for your help.
Henk.

Re: AT-6 in the ETO

Henk,

On website Airforcehistoryindex.org Taylor is mentioned with Cruickshank under same Accident Report.
In my opinion this indicates they were in the same AT-6.

Groet,

Leendert

Re: AT-6 in the ETO

Leendert,
Confirmed by UK informant that both airmen were on same AT6; engine failed and crashed on meadow land near North Walsham.
Miezerig weer hier !
Regards,
Henk.
