Ergänzungs Kampfgruppe L.G.M.

Hi friends,

I found some loses in Greece of this unit (Erg.Gr. L.G.M.) in different times.
I have no idea where the unit was located, her duties, Officers, planes etc.
Has any body more infos?

thanks in advance

Byron

Hello Byron,

possibly Erg.Gr./(K) LG 1 ? I have a loss due to engine failure of a Ju88 A-5 W.Nr. 5281 near Saloniki on 3/8/1941. All four crew members killed.

I have this plain Hans, but why they are not writing LG1 instead of LGM ?

FF. Fw. Karl Diwischek, Ju 88 A5 (W.Nr. 5281) 100% m. BO. Uffz. Gerhard Göllitz, BF. Gfr. AugustRettinger, BS. Gfr. Ottokar Schneider, Motorschaden, alle (+) 03.08.41 Fl.Pl. Sedes

A mystery indeed. Can't be a typo, because you say have more losses with that designation. But if more of them match known Erg.K.Gr./LG. 1 losses then it must be that unit. I doubt there was another Erg.K.Gr. active in Greece at the time. The M in LGM could of course mean anything but M for (Luft)mine comes to mind.

What about Mediterranean?
To obvious?
And L.G. could also mean Luftgau.
