Death of Lt. Helmut Ternieden 6 St.NGJ 2 March 15,1944.

Hello-I am a new user in Canada.
Does anyone have information about the final mission of Lt. Helmut Ternieden of 6 St. NJG2 (JU88), who died on March 15,1944? I know that he and his bordfunker died in a ground crash after being hit by return fire from a Halifax.
The Halifax was part of 427 Squadron RCAF, attacking Stuttgart. Ternieden claimed a victory of a Halifax 15 Km.SSE of Tubingen at 6000 m., but was then himself killed.
My questions are:
Were there any survivors from Ternieden's crew? i.e did anyone get out before the crash?
Is it confirmed that the Halifax which shot Ternieden down was LW-559, coded ZL-F?
Any other details.
Thanks.

I saw on another forum that you also looked for the grave site of Lt Ternieden.

According to the website Volksbund.be Ternieden rests at the Ehrenfriedhof Mülheim/Ruhr, Field I, Grave 251.
As date of death it says 16 March 1944.

Regards,

Leendert

Thanks Leendert-16 March 1944 would be correct as the Halifax victory claim by Lt. Ternieden was at 2332 hrs., and his crash was after that time.
Good information. Thanks.
