III./JG27 question
In Dec 1944 III./JG27 was equipped with the Me109K-4 but have come across a web site that says the unit switched to the Me109G-10. When did this change of a/c occur?
http://www.kurfurst.org/Engine/Boost...arance198.html Does anyone have a copy of OKL, GdJ-Grp. Qu-, Br. B. Nr. 1561/45 g. Kdos, from 20 March 1945 that they can post? |
III./JG 27 question
Hello Kutscha
I do not have the specific document that you are asking for so I can not help you there but I can add that looking at the III./JG 27 loss list shows that all losses recorded from mid-October 1944 to the end of April 1945 were Bf 109 K-4 variants with the notable exception of a single Bf 109 G-14/AS lost on 26 December 1944. Perhaps a change was planned but no Bf 109 G-10 appears on the list of losses that I am aware of. I hope this helps. Horrido! Leo |
Re: III./JG27 question
Thank you very much Leo. It certainly helps in confirming my suspicion the the web master is doctoring what he presents on his web site.

Re: III./JG27 question
Hi,
III/JG27 received already in late october the first Bf 109K-4, in november they had a total of 65 K-4, with 26 new aircraft shipped during the month and other 35 received in december, no G-10 model at all. regards Alessandro |
