Axis losses in the Ionian Islands.

Having dinner with my family & the occupation of the Ionian Islands came up; My mom, who was JUST child grew up on a small island south of Korfu called Paxos or sometimes spelled Paxi; she said that sometime during the occupation (1941 to 1944) an Axis aircraft crashed on Paxos because she remembered they scavenged the aluminum to make plates. So...as impossible as it sounds, does anybody know anything about any warplanes that crashed on Paxos sometime between 1941 & 1944? It's a pretty small island so there can't be THAT many;

Thanks ahead of time;

NM
