P-51D-5NA "February", 307th FS/31st FG

I'm looking for reference shots of P-51D-5NA ser. n°44-13382 (MX/I), called "February", flown in the MTO by the ace Lt. James Brooks, 307th FS/31st FG (15th AAF).
The only one that I've collected as far is that published in the 31st FG official site (http://www.31stfightergroup.com), which shows the pilot on the port wing of his machine, and a small section of the fuselage under the cockpit, with nine killmarks, and the readings "February" and "Lt. Jim Brooks".
I've also found a couple of colour profiles, but no more pictures, apart from those of the courrently restored and flying P-51D-30 under the "February" mark.
Anyone can help me in finding photos of the whole aircraft?
Many thanks.

Hi,

I don't know a photo which shows the full plane, but it's enough to making an accurate colour profile.
If I remember correctly, Jim Brooks is still living, but I guess, he has just the genuine copy of this photo, no more detailed pictures.

There's is one in Kucera's book on FG 31st. Maybe the artist had his own sources, but the point for me is how can you tell, say, what was the tail like or how many recon stripes were drawed on the wings from this single picture? That's the reason why I'd like to see a whole aircraft shot.
I hope Mr Brooks is still alive. He was two years ago when IIRC attended to a airshow with the courrently restored P-51 "February" flying.

Hi,

Thanks for showing the photo.

I have looked and still cannot find this or any other photo of this type or details on the website of 31FG .

But there is a profile of "February" on the bottom of the front cover of the book "In a now forgotten Sky"

All for now

Alex

Thanks Alex. I already knew that profile, and I'm looking for the photos the artist used as reference, if they are still available.
