Translation of German script required

Hi to all,

Have attached two photos of script I found in a Luftwaffe photo album, can anyone please tell me what it says? The photos show two damaged Ju 88's and I am trying to locate details so that I can add them to our website.

Kind regards,

Melvin

Hi,

1st one:

During a air attack on Paris ( 4-4-43) the machine ( aircraft ) from Lt Klossmann got under fire from our own fighters.

2nd one:

Unfortunately hard to read, but it seems an aircraft made a forces landing near Rimmes(?)

regards,

Mathieu.

Thanks a lot!

Both aircraft Ju 88's of 1./(F)123 I know this for sure, can anyone make out the name of the Oberleutnant on reverse 2nd picture?

Hello,

2nd one: During a night flight for testing the "Nachtbildgerät" (don't know how to translate that) the crew of Olt. Kirschner made a force landing near Reims (night of 5th April to 6th April 1943). The crew was unhurt.

Second one almost (who can fill in the gaps?):

"Bei einem Erprobungsflug des Nachtbildgerätes muss die Besatzung Oblt ....in der Nacht von 5. auf 6.4.43 (i.e. night of 5/6 April 1943) bei Rennes notlanden. Die Besatzung bleibt unverletzt."

Marcel

Re: Translation of German script required

"Reims" seems indeed more correct than "Rennes".

Many thanks for the corrections FrankieS!

Attached are the images of the aircraft. Picture 1 shows the damage afflicted to Lt. Klussmann's Ju 88. 2nd picture shows Oblt. Kirchner's Ju 88D-1, possibly Werke Nr.430364 60% damaged due to notlandung infolge techn mangel on the 05.04.43.

I hope the pictures are of interest.

Regards,

Melvin
