Hello
According to my database of Do215's, on 20th May 1940 a Do215 B-0 came down near Lille (but "Lille' may also refer to the location where this crewmember was killed). The unit is given as Fernaufklärungsgruppe ObdL and the pilot may have been Lt. Kipple) [source: Luftwaffe losses Gen.Qm.Abt. 6, Reel 1] It's all I can find at the moment, best wishes, Marcel Hogenhuis www.fliegerhorst-venlo.net |

Not aircraft crash, but mine explosion on ground. Name should be Keckstein, Franz and funktion Flzg.-Mech. 6 other persons were wounded.

Thank you Matti - sanity restored. Fred, you really should try to get access to a copy of The Battle of France Then & Now. It will answer most of your questions and save everyone a great deal of head-scratching.

Out of curiosity, has anyone seen the designation Do 215 B-0 in any technical documents or other documents except from loss reports which tend to contain misstakes now and then.
I've only found documents supporting B-1 to B-10, but no B-0. /Mike |
