Messerschmitt Me 163B-1a, wk.nr. 191301
This aircraft, now on display at UHC, (NASM) was thought to have been captured at Linz. Rather than serving with JG 400 as all other survivors, this machine would have been on strength with 14./EJG.2 is that correct?

Re: Messerschmitt Me 163B-1a, wk.nr. 191301
Hello Dave,
This Me163B-2 belongs to the 5th batch of 30 Me163B-2's (191301-191330) built by Junkers, its final assembly took place at Brandenburg-Briest. Though the excellent volumes of Ransom & Cammann marked this batch as 'deliveries not completed', all known Werkenummer (serial numbers) do prove otherwise. When it was captured, this Me163B-2 was identified as an aircraft of the II./JG 400, I don't have other information. All the best, Marcel www.fliegerhorst-venlo.net |
