clarification wanted on a 9./JG 77 loss

Gentlemen,

there is conflicting information regarding a loss 9./JG 77 reported in the Mediterrannean ToW in 1943:

Bf 109 G-6, WerkNr. 19 581, yellow 14, was reported lost 15 kms off Porto Vecchio in Corsica on either May 14th, 1943 or Septeber 14th, 1943. The latter date would be more plausible as III./JG 77 was employed as fighter cover for the transports between Corsica and Italy during the German evacuation of the island. However, both dates are given, when only one can be correct. Who can help with reliable sources ?

Also the name of the pilot needs clarification - so far I have had the name Uffz. Hermann Kleppka, but according to another source it is said to haven been Kleppke. Again - which one is correct ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

NVM gives September 14th and name Hermann Kleppka. Also DRK Vermißtenbildliste gives Kleppka on page LH 278.
