August Klick (Klik or even Clik!)

I have a print of the Me109 flown by Unteroffizier August Klick of 3/LG2 when he was shot down on 15/9/40 by a pilot of 19 Squadron. I have full details of this incident from the Spitfire pilot and from August Klick (including the fact that, after he bellied landed his aircraft, the Home Guard offered him a bottle of beer for his sunglasses, watch and pistol!) Could anyone give any more background - his service history, where he was based in France, what his unit history was and what happened to him after the war?

His story of his last flight is included in my book The Luftwaffe's Battle of Britain: The Fighters Battle

Hi Chris, I have that and it gives a good account (Mentioned in my post) of the shooting down of his Me109. Do you have anything more (pre and post) that incident? Thanks
