Raid on Lübeck, March 1942

Is anyone able to help with details of Luftwaffe units defending Lübeck in March 1942 and, if they exist (a long shot!), point me in the direction of any accounts of the aerial combat that night?

I have masses of accounts from people on the ground but don't know where to begin when it comes to the skies. :(

Many thanks in advance.

Hello,

Suggest you take a look at Michael Bowyer's,The Stirling Story (pp.121-2). Whilst the focus is on Stirlings, it does contain a brief account of a couple of combats. There is also a summary of the Bomber Command Tactics Report/ORS for the 28/29 March raid, plus various other data.

Col.

Many thanks Col - that looks pretty easy to track down too through the library :)
