German intelligence reports on crashed Allied aircraft?
Hi All,
I'm new to this subject, assuming there must be German equivalents to British A.I.1.(k) and (g) reports, could someone enlighten me on this subject, just what is available, and where from? Thanks in advance. Joe |
Re: German intelligence reports on crashed Allied aircraft?
I know nothing about the German equivalent, but I have read few Finnish reports on Soviet lend-lease aeroplanes such as A-20s and P-40s. These reports usually included a list of equipment on the plane, amount of ammunition and fuel on board, photographs of the wreck and other remarks. For example addition to these the report for P-40 shot down at Särkisalo on 9 August 1943 also included copies of plane's identification plates (No. 42-90272).

Re: German intelligence reports on crashed Allied aircraft?
Hi
Only thing I have seen are some published ww2 booklets, called, 'Ergebnisse Beuteauswertung'. I have found a couple on pdf, but no originals. cheers Jerry |
Re: German intelligence reports on crashed Allied aircraft?
Thanks to Martti and Jerry,
I was hoping to find contemporary crash reports that may possibly assist in the identification of unnamed aircrew graves, info such as date, place and time also aircraft type and any series numbers/ID codes could prove vital, the hunt goes on. Thanks Joe |
Re: German intelligence reports on crashed Allied aircraft?
Good evening Joe !
Could it be possible, that the German J; KU; KSU and KE-reports, then compiled by the German "Auswertestelle West" and the "DuLag-Luft West" would be an equivalent to the British A.I.1.(k) and (g) reports. The nature of the information containing those German reports are generally the same as the British. The only exception are the lack of the conclusions of personal interrogation of the crews, which was done by another division of Luftwaffe interrogation teams. But reports of this matter were shipped postwar from Germany to the UK and the U.S., and they are still available at least in the National Archives of the USA. I am very suer, that the German RAF-files of this matter are somewhere in the UK stored and must (theoretically) be available. Best wishes ! Horst Weber |

Re: German intelligence reports on crashed Allied aircraft?
Hi Joe,
Oddly enough I have the original German intelligence/Flak Report for Spitfire Vb AR388. It is of course in German but if you wish I could e-mail it to you. Russ |

Re: German intelligence reports on crashed Allied aircraft?
Hi Joe,
Its on its way, hopefully this will be of some help. As you can see it is quite detailed with eye-witness reports, etc. but unfortunately this aircraft crashed into the sea. Hope this helps anyway, Russ |
