Marienbad Airbase
 

Hi

Does anybody know which Luftwaffe units were operating from Marienbad in March 1939 or around that period?

Hi Dave,

A part of the Schule Fliegerausbildungsregiment FAR 13 was operating from this base in late 1939. Marienbad / Marianske Lazne were in Czechoslovakia but annexed by Third Reich after Munich Dictate in September 1938. So the FAR could be there earlier than in late 1939.

Hi Michal,

Thanks for your answer. The reason for my question was that I recently purchased a photo from e-bay of a line up of Hs123s with the markings for SchlachtFliegerGruppe 30. The unit was in existance between 1 August 1938 and 1 November 1938 and was at Marienbad for a few weeks in October before returning to Fassberg and disbandment. However, on the back of the photo is written 18 Marz Marienbad Flugplatz. I was hoping to find out which units were there on March 18 (presumably 1939) to see if could explain this anomaly. Any help/suggestions would be most welcome
