Information Concerning Uffz. Erwin Berwanger - lost against England 12.09.1942

Hi,

Can anyone provide information on the loss of Uffz. Erwin Berwanger who was killed on a flying mission against England on the 12th September 1942.

It seems if he was on a mission over England his aircraft made it back to France.

Different, later date than you mentioned:

Ju 88A-1 WNr.4134 coded L1+JN of 5./LG 1; 5.Oct. 1940 Ltn. Ottfried Hoffmann KIA with crew (Beobachter Gefr. Walter Steiner, Bordfunker Gefr. Horst Leuenberg & Bordschütz Uffz. Erwin Berwanger), Luftkampf with enemy fighters.
