Unknown aircraft type in Luftwaffe markings

Enclosed is a photo of an aircraft type in Luftwaffe markings I could not identify:

It appears to be a four-engine transport, possibly captured earlier by the Germans. (see what appears to be an overpainted roundel under the wing Balkenkreuz).
Any clues?

Dénes

Looks very much like a Piaggio 108C model (solid nose)
Luftwaffe took over a few in 1943
From where is the photo?

Cheers
Stig

Thanks for the hint, Stig.

The photo was sold today on eBay.

Re: Unknown aircraft type in Luftwaffe markings

Luftwaffe had five (of 24 built) Piaggio P.108B (civil airliners instead of P.108T Transports)in service, most of them with TS 5 (J4+xH).
Four Piaggios were set ablaze on an airfield near Munich (Mühldorf-Mettenheim?).
One Piaggio P.108A Artigliere there served as spare parts provider.

Mühldorf Mettenheim was base of TS 5, being absorbed in August '44 by 14./TG4.
The airfield seems to be south of Munich, close to the Alps- Maybe Bad Aibling-Ainring area?

Regards

Fran
